The Question That Changed Everything
Is this all there is?
I once sat across from a man who had everything. Corner office. Beautiful family. More money than he could spend. He looked at me and asked a question I wasn’t ready for:
“Is this all there is?”
I was young. I thought success was the answer. I thought if you worked hard enough, built enough, achieved enough, the meaning would follow. But here was a man who had done all of that. And he was still searching.
That question haunted me. I’ve heard it again. And again. From founders who had sold their companies. From executives at the top of their game. From men and women who had checked every box and still felt something was missing.
I’ve spent my life trying to understand that question, and help people find their own answers.
Who am I?
I’m Andrew Thorn. I’m a husband of 38 years to Stacy, my partner in everything. I’m a father of seven and grandfather of seventeen. I’m a disciple of Jesus Christ, though I’ll be the first to admit my actions are often a poor representation of that desire. I’m an author of 23 books. Some you can find online, others I’ve written only for those closest to me.
Through Telios and Legacy Sherpa, I guide individuals toward wholeness; what the Greeks called telios, meaning complete, fully finished. Through Heritage Design, I help families build a legacy that lasts for generations.
My favorite question is still the same one I ask myself every day: Who do I want to become?
What is this place?
This is where I’ll share what I’ve learned, (and what I’m still learning), about exploring what comes after success. About growing whole in your family, your work, and yourself. About the Inventure of becoming who you’re meant to be.
Some posts will be practical. Some will be reflective. Some will be questions more than answers.
If you’re someone who has achieved more than you ever imagined and still finds yourself wondering Is this all there is? You’re in the right place.
Life is Good!
Andrew
